Mail Call!

I'm not ashamed to say i let out a big "YAY!" when the courier showed up to the shop this morning with a very distinctly shaped parcel.

Lulu (by Lipstik via Hannahs) had been on my radar for quite some time. At a height i love, i was originally pining over the Coral version till sunday when i finally bothered to try them on. Boyfriend informed me "that color doesn't look good on your white feet" and a depressed wander round the mall ensued.

At $49.95 i decided it'd still be worth picking up my second choice in the blue, by mail order none the less!

Too Hard Basket

The Simone Dress sample sat half finished, in the corner of my "factory" for two weeks. Why? Because i had an image in my head of what it should have been like and it just wasn't living up to the dream!

I get incredibly frustrated when this happens, largely because i get a huge adrenaline rush when I'm sewing something new and it's a long way to come crashing down when you try it on, hate it, and do a big "HRUMPH!" (insert stompy, grumpy Catherine). And so the reject gets tucked away in a corner until the excitement level comes back up again.

For the Simone Dress, that was 9pm last night. The changes needed were so awfully minor, it's more than a tad silly that it took me two weeks to rectify, but finally it resembles the picture in my head.

Time to smile, have a little proud moment and tackle the remaining garments in the "Too Hard Basket".

What's hiding away in yours?

GOJANE.COM :
GoJane is my first stop when browsing for new clodhoppers. Those who know me, know that i wear ridiculous shoes 24/7. The truth lies in the fact i only own one pair of flats that aren't sneakers and I've never worn them outside the house they are THAT uncomfortable! I like to think i have special feet, if I'm not in heels i am much more likely to trip over myself and get the feeling i end up waddling a bit like a duck...

GoJane is a bit like Briscoes, you're an idiot if you ever pay full price for anything. More often than not you'll find they have 20% off and if your lucky you'll be able to get 3 pair of wicked shoes at 30% off, shipped to New Zealand for less than $120NZD. I personally don't recommend their clothing unless you are child sized... ( i ordered one dress and it seems to think it is a belt)... but their shoe selection is wide and varied and there are plenty of goodies to be had, as long as you avoid these puppies ;)

"oh, Lola!" by Marc Jacobs :
It may not have been a complete surprise that my partner bought me a new fragrance on his way back from the NRL grand final in Sydney as i did, not so subtly, hint my old favourite daisy was running low. But ooohh I do love it so! I think i may be just a tad spoilt...

I wasn't aware there was a new Lola on the market, i was a bit of a fan of the original but there was something about it i didn't love. As with most Marc Jacobs fragrances, it's an ultra girly scent with raspberry and vanilla (win, win, right?!) and best of all it really lasts on my skin. 9 hours after spritzing and after running a few km's outdoors and i could still smell it on my wrist. Oh, Lola! is a new fav times a million.

Garnier Clean Sensitive Makeup Remover

I'm not sure what about this is designed for sensitive skin, as it gave me stinging, red eyelid s and made makeup removal and application a major pain until the ensuing rash subsided. While it worked fantastically at removing waterproof mascara (Covergirl Lash Blast Waterproof... HELLO! that stuff isn't waterproof it's plain indestructible!), I simply do not recommend.

Can most definitely live without it.
